The Brinkley Belugas got a superb performance from pitcher Isaac Steel, but the Sioux Falls Red Pandas still won the game, 5-3. Steel was named the player of the game despite the loss. He came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters . Sioux Falls starter Ron Madison was credited with the win after throwing 102 pitches over 8 innings. His record now stands at 2-2. At 45-48, Sioux Falls is in 6th place in the Menard's AAA.
The Red Pandas got a big at-bat from shortstop Pancho Salaedo. For the game, Salaedo went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 18th hit of the season gave Sioux Falls a 2-1 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Salaedo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
