Belugas Lose 5-4 Decision to Timber Hawks
|
The Augusta Timber Hawks did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Brinkley Belugas at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Emil Olsson, who captured player of the game honors. Augusta, at 40-47, sits in 9th place in the Menard's AAA.
The Timber Hawks got a big at-bat from center fielder Dave Yates. For the game, Yates was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Augusta a 5-3 lead.
In postgame comments to the Augusta Daily News, Olsson said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
