Alcalá Rips Hamilton for 5 Hits
|
José Alcalá put on a hitting clinic today as the Alloway Halberds dumped the Hamilton Coyotes 8-5 at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Alloway right fielder made Hamilton defenders earn their pay, lashing Hamilton pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Alcalá said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
José Alcalá hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, tripled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
In 64 games Alcalá is hitting .297 this season with 76 hits, 11 home runs, 33 RBIs, 23 walks, .355 OBP and has scored 49 runs.
