Men Use Late-Game Magic to Beat BC
|
The Men faced a stiff challenge from Houston pitcher Luis Díaz, but persevered to claim a win at Houston Park. The final score was 4-1. Díaz went 6.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Florida reliever Brian Scalabrine got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Pepe Delgado was tagged with the loss. Tyler Lund was called on to finish, recording his 18th save.
Kyle Vandenbrink's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a fastball from Pepe Delgado for a solo home run. It put Florida in front, 2-1.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Houston manager .
Florida is now 45-28, Houston 24-49.
