Rainbow Mermaids Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Northern Virginia and Vancouver duked it out at Wolf Den in Vancouver and the Rainbow Mermaids came out victorious.
Melito Báez led Northern Virginia to a win over Vancouver. The final score was 5-3. The left fielder collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. The win was Guldemunde Geilinger's in relief. His record improves to 2-0. John Dempsey took the loss for Vancouver.
Northern Virginia took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Count Dante stroked a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Rainbow Mermaids.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Báez.
Vancouver, at 15-20, has lost 4 straight.
