|
Getting a good performance from right fielder Carlos De Jesús, the Alloway Halberds defeated the Port Royal Disaster, 7-3. De Jesús went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Halberds. Antonio Godfrey earned the win for Alloway. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 8-2. Bryan Tuff earned the save for Alloway, his 1st of the year.
José Alcalá, who is tied for 6th in the 3AAA in home runs with 11, contributed to the Alloway win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Good pitching stops good hitting," said Alcalá. "And vice-versa."
Alloway currently is in 6th place in the Menard's AAA at 34-35.
