Disaster Come Up Short at Sunset District
|
The Sunset District Fog picked up a win at Fog Park, knocking off the Port Royal Disaster, 3-2. Starting pitcher Mark Roddam played a key role in the triumph. Michael Brown earned the save for Sunset District, his 5th of the year. The Fog saw their record improve to 30-36.
Chad Shafer was 1-5 for Sunset District. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Masaharu Sakata. It was his 35th RBI of the season.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Sunset District manager John Muńóz said.
