Farquharson Goes Wild, But Halberds Win
|
Alloway withstood an impressive performance by Augusta catcher Tony Farquharson to defeat the Timber Hawks, 5-4, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. Farquharson went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Alloway has now won 4 games in a row.
Late-game drama came in the top of the ninth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Enrique Gómez, hit a single. It helped Alloway seize the win.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Gómez said after the game.
