Dodos Come Up Short at Hamilton
|
The Hamilton Coyotes faced a tough opponent in Hialeah pitcher Logan Gregory, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Coyote Wildlife Refuge by a final score of 3-2. Gregory went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Norberto Flores picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Olegário Pa was tagged with the loss. Even with the win, the Coyotes have a dismal 13-38 record.
Hamilton grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, José Gómez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 3-2 in favor of the Coyotes.
Hialeah manager Kyle Besley said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
