Patriots Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Dodgers
|
Fans who gathered at Ebbetts Field saw a good contest between the Boston Patriots and Brooklyn Dodgers.
The Brooklyn Dodgers got a superb performance from right fielder Manuel Carmona, but the Boston Patriots still won the game, 5-3. Carmona was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Armando Garay, credited with the win, is now 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Getting the save was Shu-de Cui, his 3rd.
Boston used the timely hitting of Juan Tellado to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Patriots on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Boston manager Tyler Carter.
Boston has now won 5 games in a row.
