Rainbow Mermaids Get Past Panama City for 5-4 Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids turned back the Panama City Piranhas, 5-4, at Atlantica. Scott Kerin was named player of the game for his fine performance. He hit 2 home runs. Northern Virginia reliever Mark Valle got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Natalino Golaio was tagged with the loss. Northern Virginia is now 21-11, Panama City 14-18.

Count Dante was the walk-off hero for Northern Virginia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainbow Mermaids center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Dante told the Northern Virginia Times.
