Piranhas Get Past Northern Virginia for 4-3 Win
|
Panama City beat Northern Virginia on the strength of starter Robinson Suárez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. The save went to Folkert van Huizen, his 4th this season. Panama City, at 14-17, sits in 7th place in the Premier League.
Had Mike Strickland not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Strickland hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Piranhas.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Strickland.
