|
Florida beat Port Royal on the strength of starter Rhett Abbott's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. The Disaster, now 17-19, have lost 6 in a row.
Jason Alexander drove in one run for Florida. The 33-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Alfredo Hernández. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
In comments to the Florida Herald, Abbott admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
