Great Lakers Sneak Past Halberds, 3-2
|
Alloway pitcher Luis Torres gave the Great Lakers all they could handle, but in the end, Pure Michigan left Ballpark of Alloway with a 3-2 win. Torres allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.1 innings. Pure Michigan reliever Adrian Neumann was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Matthew Fallows took the loss for Alloway. Pure Michigan is now 18-14.
Victor Schuur made it 3-2, Pure Michigan, in the top of the ninth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Great Lakers win.
Afterward, Great Lakers manager Bob Thomas was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
