Belugas Need Extra Frames to Get Past Red Pandas
|
In a tight game between the Brinkley Belugas and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, pitcher Behar Jusufi was terrific on the mound. The Brinkley right-hander was named the player of the game in Brinkley's 2-1 win. The winner was Brinkley reliever Austin Aries, now 2-0. The loser was Francisco López. Earning his 4th save of the year was António Rúbio.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the tenth inning. With two out, Felix Plugge hit a first pitch cutter from Fred Pitts for a run-scoring single. It put Brinkley in front, 2-1.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Jusufi told reporters after the game.
Brinkley has now won 4 straight.
