The Hamilton Coyotes did just enough to sneak past the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 8-7, at The Bamboo Forest. Hamilton third baseman José Gómez earned player of the game honors. The Coyotes now own a record of 6-15.

Alejandro Serrato's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from Leslie Brooks for a run-scoring single. It put Hamilton in front, 8-7.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Gómez said.
