The Panama City Piranhas topped the Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 8-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Sergio Ortíz. Ortíz went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Piranhas on the day. Craig Whitney got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4.1 innings.
