Hot Start Continues for Disaster
|
Gary Chalmers added some punch to the Port Royal offense, helping them outmuscle the Houston BC, 10-7. In the game, Chalmers, who is rated as the 6th best prospect by BNN, was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. The Disaster, now 5-1, have hit the ground running this season.
Bob Daugherty had a big run-scoring double for the Disaster in the bottom of the third inning. With Port Royal trailing 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Bobby Roode and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Disaster ahead, 4-2.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Chalmers.
