Coyotes Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
The Sunset District Fog and Hamilton Coyotes cranked it up at Coyote Wildlife Refuge.
The Hamilton Coyotes beat the Sunset District Fog, 9-6, at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Ken Stroud, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Hamilton reliever Errol Lange picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Abraham van der Meulen absorbed the loss.
Hamilton third baseman José Gómez contributed to the cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Gómez was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager David Pacheco said.
The Fog, now 2-3, have been pitiful so far.
