Pineda Leads Fenix to Win
|
The New Jersey Fenix handed the Quebec City Les Bleus a loss at Hawks Ballpark. The final score was 14-5. Ángel Pineda was named player of the game for New Jersey. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The win was credited to Corbin Jameson in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Blaine Stottlar took the loss. New Jersey has now won 4 straight.
One of the key players for the Fenix was center fielder Jesús Román, who drilled a 2-run single in the top of the first inning. For the game, Román was 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Román told the New Jersey Today.
