Lakers Lose to Voodoo, 4-2
|
The New Orleans Voodoo got a strong performance from pitcher Juan Díaz, who stymied the Echo Park offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Voodoo Lounge. Miguel Toro picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Stef Dijkman was tagged with the loss. Bob Roth closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 4th save.
The Voodoo got a big at-bat from left fielder Griffin Woodfinlevine. For the game, Woodfinlevine went 1-4 with a home run. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave New Orleans a 3-2 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Woodfinlevine said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Lakers fall to 5-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2032 season.
