1837 BBC Take Down Lakers, 7-2
|
The Houston 1837 BBC stymied the Echo Park Lakers, 7-2, at Rangers Stadium. Eduardo Pampin, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Houston. Houston reliever Emil Olsson was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Will Hunting took the loss. José Ledezma, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Pampin had a key at-bat for Houston early in the game. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave Houston an early 2-0 lead.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Pampin told the Houston Times.
With the win, Houston improves its record to 6-6.
