Realogy Grounds was the site for Menard's Third League action featuring the New Jersey Fenix and Kingston Township Legion.
Ron Bernard had a hand in Kingston Township defeating New Jersey by the score of 8-5. Bernard went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 1 runs. Fernando Espinosa, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Fenix to 4 earned runs on 6 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 8. John Riggleman recorded the save for Kingston Township, his 3rd of the season.
Mike Gardner delivered a big hit for the Legion. The veteran left fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the second. The longball put Kingston Township on top, 5-0. Overall, Gardner was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gardner. "And not try to do too much."
With the loss, New Jersey is 6-3.
