Loons End Yandell's Streak
Wednesday, July 16th, 2031
It was the best of both worlds for the Minnesota Loons today at Ballpark of Tacoma, as they defeated the Tacoma Fur Traders 10-3 and also snapped Daryl Yandell's 20-game hitting streak. The 22-year-old Tacoma catcher failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Yandell, we just wanted to win the game," said Loons skipper Leo Sargent. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Yandell frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

In 48 games Yandell is hitting .311 this season with 59 hits, 9 home runs, 46 RBIs, 23 walks, .389 OBP and has scored 33 runs.
