Yandell Hits in 20 Straight Games Sunday, July 13th, 2031 The Tacoma Fur Traders may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 9-8 to the Richland Rails, but Daryl Yandell continued to hit like a god. The catcher collected 1 hit in 3 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Yandell is playing great and is on fire right now," Fur Traders manager David Márquez said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Yandell was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Daryl Yandell hit a three-run home run off Chin-seok Hwang in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. Yandell is hitting .317 so far this season with 46 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 59 hits including 9 home runs, 23 walks and .396 OBP. |
