That was the resounding sentiment in the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles locker room when they were told they had clinched the Premier AA title, for the 8th time. With a 61-34 record, Mercer Island's stars certainly feel like they have a good chance to go all the way. "We've learned a lot under David Lundy's tutelage this year. He's taught us to never be over-confident, and to play every game like a championship game. I think with him and the team we have, we have a great chance to bring a 6th championship to Mercer Island this year," said left fielder Juan Reyes. |
