Valle Shines in Perfect Game
Saturday, July 26th, 2031
Over the course of baseball history, some moments stand a little taller than others. One of those moments happened today at Ricochets Ballpark.

Salem right-hander Enrique Valle threw a perfect game at as the Misfits beat the Myrtle Beach Mermen, 2-0. In his post-game comments, Valle told reporters that it was something he had never dreamed of.

"As a kid, you always think of pitching to win the final game of a championship," Valle said. "You never think of pitching a perfect game, because it just seems unattainable. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life."

By the end of the game, Valle had rung up 15 Myrtle Beach hitters on strikeouts, and did not allow a single baserunner. The fans gave Valle a standing ovation as he left the mound, knowing they had witnessed one of the rarest events in the sport.

To this point in the season, Valle shows a 7-4 record, 14 starts, 100.1 innings, 90 strikeouts and a 4.66 ERA.
