Herons Stop Rweikiza at 26 Sunday, June 15th, 2031 The hitting streak that Athletic Club KC Academy shortstop Abdallah Rweikiza had kept going for 26 games was ended today by the Glendale Herons. Rweikiza was stymied over 1 at-bat today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 5-4 victory at KC Academy Field. "Hitting streaks come and go," Rweikiza said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." This year Rweikiza has collected a .359 batting average to date with 51 hits in 142 at-bats, 23 RBIs, 4 home runs and scored 27 times. He has played in 34 games. |
