Alloway Snaps McLennan's Streak at 21 Thursday, July 10th, 2031 For 21 straight games, Alan McLennan tried to ignore his hitting streak. It wasn't easy. Well, the 26-year-old Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds left fielder can forget about it now -- it's over, courtesy of the Alloway Halberds. The Halberds held him hitless in 4 at-bats at Dog Park in Ellenburg today and snapped his consecutive-game hitting string at 21. There was at least one good note to the end of the streak, however, as the Fighting Dachsunds took the win by the score of 5-4. "I tried to ignore it for weeks, but you guys in the media wouldn't let me," he joked with reporters after the game. "I'm looking forward to some peace and quiet now." McLennan is hitting .303 this year with 10 home runs and 41 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .360, 16 walks and scored 30 times. |
