Payton Wins SAAA Best Player Award Monday, September 8th, 2031 26-year-old Ricky Payton made a few Port Royal headlines during this past week as the rookie center fielder proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and USSL Triple A officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 11 hits in 22 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Payton collected 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and scored 6 runs. This year Payton has collected a .311 batting average to date with 111 hits in 357 at-bats, 38 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 48 times. He has played in 91 games. |
