Gómez and Foltynewicz Brawl, League Suspends Them Friday, August 8th, 2031 After an intense confrontation, both the Coyotes José Gómez and the Flyers Mike Foltynewicz were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Hamilton-Pennsauken game. Both players will miss 5 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," José Gómez commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." Gómez is hitting .308 this year with 8 home runs and 50 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .393, 34 walks and scored 40 times. To date this year, Foltynewicz shows a 5-6 record, 15 starts, 100.2 innings, 83 strikeouts and a 4.74 ERA. |
