BC End Rodríguez's Streak Monday, June 23rd, 2031 It was the best of both worlds for the Houston BC today at Pennsauken Park, as they defeated the Pennsauken Flyers 5-3 and also snapped José Rodríguez's 20-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Pennsauken shortstop failed to get a hit in 5 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Rodríguez, we just wanted to win the game," said BC skipper Jerry Moore. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Rodríguez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." In 42 games Rodríguez is hitting .305 this season with 53 hits, 3 home runs, 29 RBIs, 14 walks, .361 OBP and has scored 24 runs. |
