Red Pandas End Vandenbrink's Streak
Monday, August 18th, 2031
It was the best of both worlds for the Sioux Falls Red Pandas today at The Bamboo Forest, as they defeated the Florida Men 5-4 and also snapped Kyle Vandenbrink's 22-game hitting streak. The 27-year-old Florida center fielder failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Vandenbrink, we just wanted to win the game," said Red Pandas skipper Ricardo Martínez. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Vandenbrink frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

This year Vandenbrink has collected a .306 batting average to date with 97 hits in 317 at-bats, 43 RBIs, 10 home runs and scored 54 times. He has played in 81 games.
