Reapers End Kallio's Streak
Thursday, August 21st, 2031
It was the best of both worlds for the Grim Reapers today at The Coffin, as they defeated the Idaho Falls Chukars 3-0 and also snapped Petri Kallio's 20-game hitting streak. The 19-year-old Idaho Falls second baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Kallio, we just wanted to win the game," said Reapers skipper Dan Joseph. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Kallio frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Kallio is hitting .274 this year with 8 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .310, 14 walks and scored 42 times.
