1787 BC, Gardener Blank Athletic Club KC Saturday, July 26th, 2031 It wasn't easy but the Delaware 1787 BC made it look that way. Starter Ángel Gardener shut out the Athletic Club KC U-21 despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Delaware 1787 BC cruised to victory, 6-0. Gardener allowed only 5 hits and rang up 13 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." So far this year Gardener has made 14 starts, tossed 110.2 innings, struck out 110 batters and walked 29.
