Dodgers End Ayala's Streak
Thursday, July 3rd, 2031
It was the best of both worlds for the Brooklyn Dodgers today at The Tank, as they defeated the Panama City Piranhas 7-3 and also snapped Juan Jose Ayala's 23-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Panama City third baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Ayala, we just wanted to win the game," said Dodgers skipper Erock Genova. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Ayala frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Ayala is hitting .431 this year with 2 home runs and 17 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .498, 24 walks and scored 39 times.
