Brooklyn's Alaniz to Miss Season
Tuesday, August 19th, 2031
Brooklyn fans will be disappointed to learn that José Alaniz suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Brooklyn Dodgers manager that Alaniz was expected to miss 12-13 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

To date this year, Alaniz shows a 2-2 record, 0 starts, 37.1 innings, 30 strikeouts and a 3.62 ERA.
