Rainbow Mermaids Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
Panama City got a terrific game from third baseman Juan Jose Ayala. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Northern Virginia, 6-3. Ayala was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Northern Virginia starter Guldemunde Geilinger was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. Earning his 6th save for Northern Virginia was Iván García.

Northern Virginia shortstop Eustacio Tafalla contributed to the cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. For the game, Tafalla was 1-5 with a double.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Tafalla. "And not try to do too much."

At 13-7, the Rainbow Mermaids have played well so far.
