Big Day for Ortíz as Flamingos Down Dutchmen, 6-4

The Las Vegas Flamingos beat the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 6-4, at The Strip. Las Vegas first baseman Sergio Ortíz earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Las Vegas starter Toddster Gordo was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 9-1. Las Vegas is now 51-34, while New Amsterdam is 40-45.
Las Vegas grabbed control in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Victor Adams delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Flamingos.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Las Vegas manager JJ Hoban.
