Athletic Club KC Lose to Middies, 6-5
|
Athletic Club KC got a terrific game from second baseman Pedro Vázquez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Grafton, 6-5. Vázquez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. António Marés was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 4 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Kenete Daku earned his 12th save in 16 chances.
Mariano Sánchez hit a 2-run triple off Sung-hwan Ho in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Middies in front, 5-3. In addition to the triple, Sánchez had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Sánchez said.
The 6th-place Athletic Club KC have lost 5 straight games.
