Tah Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Portland in Walk-Off Win
|
Atlanta got a terrific performance from pitcher Sy-ing Tah, but it wasn't enough to beat the Portland Evergreens. Portland won the Evergreen Park contest, 3-2. Tah was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. The Evergreens, now 15-4, have been on fire in the early going.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 13th inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, Chris Payling, hit a single. It helped Portland seize the win.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Payling. "I like it."
