Berneu Helps Thundercats Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Richardson City Thundercats topped the Chicago Gold Sox by the score of 9-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Anselmo Berneu. Berneu went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Thundercats on the day. Richardson City reliever Kelsey MacGillivary picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-4. Shuntavyious Primes-Willes was collared with the loss. Richardson City has now won 3 in a row.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Mitch Qualtrough, who is tied for 7th in the SL in stolen bases with 23, hit a single. The Thundercats went on to win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Richardson City skipper Imran Kopitar.
