Gold Sox Stumble, Lose to Express
|
The Wizarding Express picked up a win at Platform 9 3/4, knocking off the Chicago Gold Sox, 8-3. Starting pitcher Juan Contreras played a key role in the triumph. Contreras got the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Contreras allowed 2 earned runs. Marv Bradford finished to wrap up his 1st save.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, left fielder Nathan Tanner came through big-time for the Express. With Wizarding leading 3-2, he belted a 2-run home run.
"Enjoyed this one," Contreras told the Wizarding Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Wizarding is now 44-32, Chicago 43-33.
