Willis Baker had a 3-RBI game, during Rocky Mountain's 6-1 triumph over Toledo. Baker had 2 singles, 1 double, and 2 walks in the contest. Carlos Medina, the winner, improved to 5-8. He held the Stingers to no earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Will Moore earned the save for Rocky Mountain, his 2nd of the year.
Wes Shannon had a big run-scoring double for the Nuggets in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Rocky Mountain leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Esteban González and stroked the double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nuggets ahead, 2-0.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Nuggets manager Matt Hunt. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The Nuggets now have a mark of 26-48.
