Stingers Lose to Middies, 7-4
|
The Grafton Middies defeated the Toledo Stingers, 7-4, in United States Silver League action at Pacesetter Park, with Grafton pitcher Robbie Baxter named player of the game. Baxter got the win, improving to 3-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Baxter allowed 3 earned runs. Even with the win, the Middies have a dismal 23-48 record.
Job Pels aided the Grafton cause with a 2-run single in the top of the second. For the game, the shortstop was 2-5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Baxter told a Grafton Gazette reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
