Chris Payling put on a hitting clinic today as the Portland Evergreens dumped the Boston Patriots 14-2 at Dunkin Donuts Park.

The Portland right fielder made Boston defenders earn their pay, lashing Boston pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."

"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Payling said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."

Chris Payling singled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
