Thackston Helps Thundercats Run Win Streak to 3
|
The 2031 season is getting ugly for Grafton.
The Richardson City Thundercats topped the Grafton Middies by the score of 7-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Eric Thackston. Thackston went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Thundercats. Jesús Gonzáles, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 7.1 innings.
Richardson City used the clutch hitting of Eduardo Álvarez to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to give the Thundercats the lead, 3-1. For the game, Álvarez had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Richardson City manager Imran Kopitar.
The win puts the Thundercats at 30-28, while the Middies drop to 19-39.
