Juan Contreras never let the Thundercats get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Express to a 3-1 win. Contreras, now 2-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Wizarding is now 26-22.
Nathan Tanner took Stanford McCain deep in the top of the fifth. His solo home run put the Express on top, 1-0. In all, Tanner had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Tanner called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
