Thundercats Sneak Past Middies, 4-3
|
The Richardson City Thundercats picked up a win at Field of the Middies, knocking off the Grafton Middies, 4-3. Starting pitcher Shunen Takahashi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Takahashi got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 8.2 innings. Takahashi allowed 3 earned runs. Joe Pruitt picked up the save, his 4th.
Louis Gibbons, who is rated as the 49th best prospect by BNN, aided the Richardson City cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the third baseman drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Takahashi.
Richardson City has now won 3 straight, while the Middies have lost 3 in a row.
