Hakoda Rips Brooklyn for 5 Hits
|
Kyoji Hakoda put on a hitting clinic today as the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids dumped the Brooklyn Dodgers 6-2 at Ebbetts Field.
The Northern Virginia first baseman made Brooklyn defenders earn their pay, lashing Brooklyn pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it."
"Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Hakoda said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch."
Kyoji Hakoda singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Hakoda is hitting .466 this year with 6 home runs and 16 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .557, 11 walks and scored 16 times.
